Last night as I was tucking VanGoghGirl into bed she said, "I hope that when I have a baby, she'll at least have ADD or something like that because I want her to be one of us, too. Ya' know, like, a person with a disability."
I went to sleep with a ear-to-ear smile on my face.

That's awesome.
By the way, is that your photo at the top? I've always wanted to see that area, especially Houma, but it remains out of reach for various reasons... as distant as Timbuktu for me.
Yes, I took that picture last year. It's a beautiful spot. If you're ever in Louisiana, let me know. Everyone should see this place. You'd love it. I promise.
*grins*
there about 10,000 things RIGHT with this.
love you, my sister
CripChick,
I hope that when VanGoghGirl grows up, she'll be able to look to women like you as examples to model. The poise and intensity of emotion that you bring to discussions about privilege really have me in awe right about now.
VanGoghGirl is just plain amazing.
